Modern Design for a London Garden
|
Modern WalkwayThe primary feature of this garden is the highly stylised pergola running through its centre. It is constructed from scaffold poles and connectors and the sides have sheets of ‘live edge’ blue Perspex suspended using chains. When the sun shines on the Perspex it becomes a vibrant blue, yet on a grey day, they are almost clear producing a completely different look to the garden. The end of the walkway features a stainless steel tubular water feature. At night, coloured lights create a dramatic blue tunnel which is in full view of the kitchen/dining area. The fences and shed are stained jet black for further drama and a visual link with the black bricks that edge the contemporary grey stone paving. Low maintenance planting features highly architectural species such as bamboo, cordylines, palms and Euphorbia. In addition, the pergola supports a large grape vine and wisteria. |
